REASONS TO BUYImpressive sound with rumbling sub+Classy, versatile and compact design
REASONS TO AVOIDWireless control can be confusing

The Logitech Z407 is a great deal that doesn’t cost much money. These simple speakers’ sound quality and loudness in the shape of a capsule are excellent. They can connect electronically and have two physical inputs that can be used differently.

It comes with a wireless control stick that you can use up to 20 meters away to change the volume and bass, play, pause, or stop the current track and skip forward or backward. It was hard to figure out how to use this dial initially, but it has an excellent function that makes it more accessible.

Also, for how small it is, that subwoofer is surprisingly strong. It rumbles enough for those exciting scenes in movies and games. These speakers will make you rethink your opinion of computer speakers that are getting less useful.

REASONS TO BUY+Cheap compared to the rest+Quality sound for the price+Unique look

A good set of computer speakers can be cheap. Anyone on a tight budget should be able to get by with Creative’s Pebble Plus, whether they’re a die-hard gamer or movie fan. This 2.1 speaker system is not for audiophiles, but the price is excellent. In this price range, it’s hard to find better audio sound.

The Pebble Plus has good highs, mids, and lows thanks to its down-firing subwoofer and two far-field drivers angled at 45 degrees. Our tests also found that it does a great job of keeping distortion to a minimum at high volumes, which isn’t something you’ll often see in cheap speakers.

Any cheap item will likely have some flaws, and this one does. But they need to be big enough to turn you off. There’s no question that these are the best cheap computer speakers you can find.

REASONS TO BUYFull, fun, and engaging audio+Surround sound is epic and immersive
REASONS TO AVOIDRGB lighting could be more extensive-Needs a little extra space for setup

There is no way to beat the feeling of authentic surround sound. It’s not the same as being wholly immersed when you turn on fake surround sound for headphones or speakers. Also, it takes work to find computer speaker sets that let you hear sound from all directions.

That is no longer a problem thanks to SteelSeries’ Arena 9, their best sound system. Two satellite speakers in the front, a center channel speaker, two satellite speakers in the back, and a subwoofer make up this 5.1 system. It will quickly get you in the mood for your favorite movies and games, as it did for us.

The Arena 9s come to life when we play games with them. When we switch to a different character’s point of view, we can feel the sounds around us. When there’s a blast, that subwoofer lets us feel the bass. The sound is excellent, clear, and accurate, even when taped in stereo.

If you want to buy surround sound, the Arena 9 is one of the best options. Just make sure you have room on your desk for it.

REASONS TO AvoidAmbient lighting could be better-Not exactly cheap

We didn’t think it was possible, but Razer’s long-awaited follow-up to their best computer speakers is even better than the last one. Every part of the Razer Nommo V2 Pro is better than the old one. It looks better and takes up less space, but it needs to be more significant. The control puck can now be used without a wire, and the sound quality is better all around.

If you want great music, this 2.1 system is it. During tests, the highs were clear and detailed, the mids were full and present, and the bass and rumble were so strong that they almost shook our reviewer’s apartment building. It had a large area, and the sound imaging was excellent. However, switching to THX Spatial Audio made the game feel more natural while still playing naturally.

But this kind of speaker system costs a lot, and the Razer Nommo V2 Pro does. But sound perfectionists will get a lot for their money here, especially compared to stereo systems that cost much more and could be better.

REASONS TO AVOIDRGB lighting could be more extensive-Needs a little extra space for setup.

Their first speakers are the SteelSeries Arena 3, where they start. Because of this, these are the most important things the company makes. It doesn’t have a subwoofer or back satellites like the Arena 9 or 7, but it does have good sound, a deep soundstage, and Steelseries’ new audio suite.

The midrange and picture were good on these speakers, which we liked. These are small, so the bass only goes a little deep. The high-end could also be more precise.

On the other hand, the Steelseries’ Sonar Audio Suite lets us change the sound a lot. An adjustable EQ lets you fine-tune your sound much more than most computer or game speakers. Also, the Arena 3 has two physical inputs and a button that can do more than one thing, which makes it easy to switch between them when more than one device is linked.

REASONS TO BUYPowerful subwoofer with a lot of rumble+Great sound imaging, wide soundstage+Head-tracking AI

Your setup can take up a little space to be great. The Razer Leviathan V2 Pro is proof of that. If you want a 5.1 speaker system for your desk but don’t have enough room for one, this soundbar-sub mix is a great way to get great sound.

It’s not enough for Razer to just put five drivers in a single, small speaker, add a subwoofer that fires downward, and let it all go. This product also has thoughtful features like AI that tracks your head, various audio modes, and RGB lights that you can change. These all help to make your audio experience more immersive. You can also get it for less money than you think.

Of course, it could be better. We noticed that the high end could have been better during tests, and the mids were sometimes muddy. Even so, it has a strong bass that can shake a small room, excellent sound imaging, and a surprisingly wide soundstage. It is, without a doubt, one of our favorite computer speakers in 2024.

REASONS TO BUYGreat room-filling sound+Solid connectivity+Compact enough for any desk setup
REASONS TO AVOIDStudio to Hifi switch is subtle-Missing USB

Certain things about the Vigilant Audio SwitchOne are extraordinary. The sound quality is excellent, even though there are only two small desk speakers and no subwoofer. These speakers are strong and make a lot of noise. In addition, they’re pretty good without a sub.

Moreover, “The Switch” can transform the SwitchOne from a stereo speaker setup that sounds more like HiFi to one with a softer, more balanced frequency response that works well for studio work. During the test, we could even talk to these computers directly. We noticed that the number of answers had changed, which was hard.

This was necessary because they were meant to be used with a computer. But it has all the other ways to connect, like Bluetooth. Finally, the Vigilant Audio SwitchOne is an excellent choice if you don’t need a USB and are okay with spending a little more.

REASONS TO BUYLow-end is a little lacking-EQ controls and modes a bit too subtle-Only analog inputs

Upon our initial encounter with the Edifier MR4 studio speakers, we were astounded by their exceptional sound quality, particularly considering their relatively high price. These speakers produce exceptional sound quality and have a balanced enough sound profile to be suitable for tasks such as audio editing for a show or music mixing.

There must be a caveat, considering the low price. Additionally, there are others. The MR4’s bass response was underwhelming when we listened to songs at moderate volumes; it only became noticeable when we increased the volume. You will not experience the deep low-frequency vibrations known as sub-bass whether watching a movie or playing a game, and there is also no option to connect a subwoofer.

The device features many analog connections that effectively interact with a computer, audio interfaces, and external devices such as a phone. However, it lacks Bluetooth and USB connectivity. Nevertheless, these concerns will swiftly dissipate when experiencing the MR4 studio speakers and observing their price tag.

REASONS TO BUYFull, high-mid forward sound+Multiple connectivity
REASONS TO AVOIDNo USB or USB-C-Not quite enough volume for large spaces

A significant drawback of the Fluance Ai41 is its reliance on a USB connection. Nevertheless, overcoming this obstacle (given the presence of Bluetooth, RCA, and optical inputs) will prove challenging when seeking alternative powered wall speakers that offer comparable sound quality.

Upon conducting the tests, we were astounded by the exceptional quality of their sound. These open speakers produce a powerful bass. We hardly feel the absence of a subwoofer. The high and mid frequencies slightly rise, resulting in a bright yet rich sound.

Although we saw that it used more desk space than our preference, we recommend them. However, if your desk is small or you require additional funds, you may need to explore other options. The one-inch silk dome tweeters and five-inch woofers produce excellent sound with increased volume.

REASONS TO BUYMultiple connectivity options+Full sound for its size+Sub out and LED lighting as extras
REASONS TO AVOIDSound imaging is practically non-existent-High end isn’t very detailed

While the Edifier G2000 may have one of the most minor profiles you’ll ever see, don’t be fooled by its small size. People love these famous products from Edifier. They sound better than they look and are also very good at connecting to other devices.

Even though they don’t look like it, the G2000 gave us full, rich sound with clear highs and mostly balanced Mids. They could better imagine sound, but if you put them far enough apart, they should give you a wide field. Also, you can connect to them via Bluetooth, USB, and 3.5mm, which is excellent.

But this is a great deal. They should cost less than what they do. Getting the right small computer speakers for your small setting is excellent without lowering the sound quality… It has a unique look and RGB lighting, so it’s the whole deal.

TIPS FOR SELECTING THE BEST COMPUTER SPEAKER

Choosing the best speakers for a computer is more challenging than the best laptop or desktop. You can always spend more on something and hope it works better, but you can’t use exact measures or numbers like you can with a computer.

But there are still things outside of this to think about. Some speakers are connected through a standard 3.5mm USB, optical, or Bluetooth. If you care a lot about sound quality, you need a digital link like USB or optical to get a signal that isn’t blocked. To make things easy, you should choose speakers with Bluetooth first. A lot of speakers now sound great, thanks to Bluetooth’s progress. You may end up with an analog link if the price is significant.

It would help if you also considered how vital that low end is to you. A system with a subwoofer will make the walls shake when there’s a blast in a movie or game you’re playing.

Also, think about the size of the speakers, especially if you have a limited amount of room, as well as any extra features that come with them, like a remote or a control pod or puck that makes it easy to control them.

The sound quality is the most important and the most individual thing to consider. Do you like music with a lot of bass or want something a little brighter? Each person is drawn to a different sound.Consider whether you want more bass, a bigger sound, or a more even range of frequencies.

FAQ ON COMPUTER SPEAKER

WHAT SHOULD A GOOD COMPUTER SPEAKER HAVE?

The best computer speakers sometimes differ from the worst regarding specific features. It’s more about how things are done. However, the results will be better if you get something that can join digitally, whether it’s through USB, optical, or even Bluetooth. But traditional speakers can still sound great, even if they are a bit warmer.

Still, some computer speakers have features that make them easier to use and improve life. A remote or control pod is a nice touch that lets you change the volume and other settings without closing the app.  What you’re playing or watching.

WHICH BRAND OF SPEAKER WORKS BEST WITH A PC?

What is the best computer speaker? There needs to be a clear winner. Many good names can meet most people’s needs when they want to watch movies, listen to music, or play games. What you do on your computer most of the time will help you choose the best one.

Most accessories companies, like Logitech, Creative, and Razer, make good stuff. Companies that make sound, like Audio Engine and Harmon Kardon, also make great speakers.

If you want to save money and pick a brand you need to learn more about, like an Amazon brand, you could get into problems. There may be a few best speakers, but it’s best to stick with well-known names that have made good ones in the past.

HOW DO I SET UP THE SPEAKERS ON MY COMPUTER?

Many computer music systems are made up of two or three parts. A left speaker, a right speaker, and sometimes a subwoofer will be there. Putting them together is easy. You don’t want to just put each speaker on the screen or desk. Along with being at the right height, they should point at the spot where your head is when you’re at your computer.

Some computer speakers are even curved to make this easier. You can also make the soundstage bigger by moving the speakers farther away. This will make you feel like you’re there. Just make sure they are close enough, about two feet.

Subwoofers should be put on the floor. Many shoot downward, so the sound should hit the floor and bounce back up before it hits you. Also, they make more noise and move air around than standard speakers. If you leave your speaker on your desk, it might make a lot of noise that you don’t need to hear. The subwoofer shouldn’t be on top of your desk, but it should be close to it. It could be to the side.

Last but not least, some soundbars are designed to work with computers. If you want to get the most out of its likely small sound stage, you should make sure that the one you have is centered with you.

HOW WE PUT THESE COMPUTER SPEAKERS TO THE TEST

When we test a pair of computer speakers, we play a lot of different kinds of music for hours on end. We watch big movies, and the newest Netflix shows for sound. We also listen to other types of music and play various computer games.

We pay attention to how well the low, mid, and high sounds are shown and how that changes the speakers’ frequency response when we listen. Some speakers might have too much high-end, making the sound too loud and nasty.  Audio that sounds muddy can happen when there is too much low-end.

We live with the speakers for a long time to get a feel for their sound, decide if they’re suitable for specific tasks, and make our own decisions about the sound quality.
