Sign up by visiting chat.openai.com. You can use your email address, Google or Microsoft account. To log in to Chatgpt, you must create a free account at the OpenAI site.
Click ‘Sign Up’ to create an account if this is your first time. Follow the instructions on how to fill out your details. OpenAI requires a valid telephone number to verify your account.

After logging in to your OpenAI Account on the ChatGPT site, it’s time to familiarize yourself with the AI tool window. This is a description of what you’ll see. The image below serves as an example.
- Hide sidebar buttons & start new chat: You’ll find a button on the left side of your screen that says ‘New Chat’. Click it to begin a new conversation at any moment. This feature is helpful because the ChatGPT system remembers previous conversations and will provide context when responding. Starting a new conversation will result in a discussion that needs more context.
- Chat history: You can also turn off the chat history in the left sidebar. You can also edit the chat title, share it with others or delete it.
- Account: By clicking on your email address or your name at the bottom of the screen, you can access your account details, such as settings, logout options, help and FAQs provided by OpenAI. You’ll find an Upgrade to Plus option if you do not have chatbot. Plus.
- You can see the questions and prompts you gave the AI chatbot.
- Chatgpt responses: The logo appears on the left whenever Chat gpt answers your questions. You will see the Copy, Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down buttons to the right of every response. Please copy the text and paste it somewhere else. You can also provide feedback by copying the text into your clipboard. This helps to fine-tune the AI tool.
- Click on “Regenerate Response” to have ChatGPT try again.
- Textarea: Enter your questions and prompts in this area. Press enter to send.
- OpenAI’s ChatGPT includes some fine print just below the text entry area. You can read that this is a “Free Research Preview”. chatbot.can produce inaccurate information regarding people, places or facts. This section shows you the current version of chatbot.
