This isn’t easy to do, though, because good old dad is determined to stop him at all costs, often by killing him. No matter how hard our brave main character tries, Zagreus will always be there, so there’s no stopping them.
As the player, Hades is very interested in you. In this role-playing game, the main character keeps trying to escape the criminal Underworld, and the story is told through different conversations with different characters. As is typical for roguelikes, killing Zagreus sends you back to the beginning, where you must run another maze through the Underworld after taking some time to heal at home. You can also change how you fight and progress through the story at your own pace, which makes the single-player experience very personal.
