That’s right, everyone. Season 2 of Andor will not be coming to Disney Plus this year. It was thought that the popular Star Wars TV show would run in 2024, but things have changed since we last updated this page.

Star Wars fans were let down when they learned that season 2 of It’s not going to be on Disney Plus in 2024. Three Star was a show we could watch while we waited for Andor Season.

Currently, there is no date set for the second season of Andor. Star Wars fans may want to watch other TV shows in Lucasfilm’s famous faraway world to pass the time. If that sounds like you, watch one of these shows to pass the time. Two of them are the best Disney Plus shows ever. Hey, you young Padawan! Have fun seeing it!  Here is a list of everything we know about the next movie in the series, such as the confirmed cast list, early plot information, and more.

Please read our review of the first season of Andor before you watch it. There will be entire Andor season 1 spoilers below. New viewers should read them and then watch the show’s first episode before moving on.

ANDOR SEASON 2 RELEASE DATE: WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR

    Pinterest

There is no set date for when Andor season 2 will come out, but as we said at the start, it won’t be until 2025. Some Hollywood writers and artists went on strike in 2023, which stopped all work for a lot of last year.

The strike ended in late 2023, and just recently, filming for Andor’s second season started again. If it’s not already done, it’s almost done. Diego Luna, who played the lead, told Variety at the 2024 Primetime Emmys that he still had seven days of shooting. That could mean that everyone is done or that Luna is the only one filming his scenes.

Before, director Tony Gilroy told people at Star Wars Celebration 2023 that he wanted the movie to come out in the middle of 2024. He revealed this to Deadline: “We started filming in November 2022.” “We’re almost there. We’ll be done filming in August, then have a year to work on the movie, and it will be out the following August.

Of course, Gilroy’s words are now outdated because of the 2023 strikes, so we should prepare for a long wait. To sum up, Andor season 2 is coming, but it won’t be on Disney Plus for a while.

ANDOR SEASON CAST: CONFIRMED AND RUMORED

    Pinterest

We think the following people will be back for season 2 of Andor:

    • Cassian Andor, played by Diego Luna
    • Genevieve O’Reilly plays Mon Mothma and
    • Luthen Rael is played by Stellan Skarsgård.
    • Desra Meero, played by Denise Gough
    • Kyle Soller plays Syril Karn
    • Bix, played by Adria Arjona Hi, Caleen
    • Vel, played by Faye Marsay Cassie Kaz, played by Sartha Varada Sethu
    • Kleya Marki, played by Elizabeth Dulau
    • Anton Lesser, who played Major Partagaz
    • Duncan Pow plays Ruescott Melshi

According to Empire, Andy Serkis also suggested (or rather, didn’t say for sure) that Kino Loy, the character he played in season 1, will live to fight another day. Gilroy also told SlashFilm, “We didn’t see him die,” which means Kino might still be living.

The first season of Andor had almost 200 speaking roles and thousands of extras, so the cast list for season 2 is expected to have a lot of new faces. Lucasfilm hasn’t announced any new stars yet, but the Spanish site Levante (thanks to StarWars News Net for the tip) saw Poker Face actor Benjamin Bratt while shooting in València. Fans think this means he has a part in a movie set in space.

The cameos from classic Star Wars figures haven’t been very common in Andor, but characters from other projects appeared in its first movie.

One thing is sure: Ruescott Melshi, the soldier from Rogue One, is back. Gilroy told Deadline that he was. Wullf Yularen, played by Malcolm Sinclair, is an essential figure in the Empire and has been around since Episode IV: A New Hope. Extremist Rebel Saw Gerrera, played by Oscar winner Forest Whitaker, was also in season 1, so we expect them to return.

A few more known faces from Rogue One might also show up, which wouldn’t surprise us. Tivik (Daniel Mays), the Rebel spy Cassian kills early in Rogue One, and Bodhi Rook (Riz Ahmed), an Empire pilot who turns against the Empire, could meet the new Rebel Alliance. Another person probably working hard is Orson Krennic, played by Ben Mendelsohn. He is likely building the Death Star, the famous battle station that Andor and the other prisoners on Narkina 5 helped to become.

We’re shocked if K-2SO doesn’t finally show up, too. He’s the Imperial security droid, Cassian’s robot best friend in Rogue One. In an interview with Collider, Gilroy confirmed that K-2SO would be on the show for the first time in season 2. The showrunner said K-2SO’s first meeting with Cassian would be “one of the responsibilities of part 2.”

Gilroy told SlashFilm about other possible acting roles: “We have some things we have to do and some people we have to meet.” A few more well-known people will show up before the show ends.

STAR WAR: ANDOR SEASON 2 PLOT SPECULATION

Cassian Andor’s life was shown over one year in season 1 but four years before Rogue One in season 2.

The upcoming 12-episode season will be split into four parts, each with three episodes. Each part will cover 12 months and a few critical days in the history of Star Wars. For more information on where it will take place, see our guide on how to watch the movies in order. Gilroy also told Collider that “a great deal has happened in the interim [between the finale of season 1 and the start of season 2],” which means that the first episode of season 2 will likely explain some of the plot.

Gilroy told Deadline, “When we come back, it’ll be like a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.” “Then we’ll jump a year, and it will be four or five days. Then we’ll jump a year, and it will be four or five days again.” The last three days before Rogue One make up our previous block. We will walk into Rogue One in the prior shot. We must weave a lot together with the Star Wars calendar at the end.

It’s clear when season 2 of Andor starts and ends, but not so much about what happens in between.

Star Diego Luna told Entertainment Weekly (EW), “The beauty of this show is that sometimes you know what’s going to happen, but it hits you like you’re learning it for the first time.” “You are seeing this from the inside, from your point of view.” You can live it with or through the characters. That’s why it hits you differently. Though the events are essential, they are more about people’s decisions and risks. You care more about them now that you know them than before.

What did the end of season 1 do to set up season 2? After the tweet below, there are spoilers for the first season of Andor!

Cassian Andor went back to his home world, Ferrix, for a short time in the season 1 finale to attend the funeral of his adoptive mother, Maarva. After she started an anti-imperial riot after she died, he saved his ex-girlfriend Bix Caleen from Imperial torture. He persuaded Luthen Rael, the leader of the Rebel Alliance, not to kill him. Cassian will be a full-fledged part of the Alliance the next time we see him. Before, he was curious about whether he wanted to fight the Empire.

Gilroy told Polygon, “There is no doubt that Cassian is dedicated to the cause.” “If it was about him becoming a revolutionary, then the second half is about him becoming a leader.”

Andor was as much about Mon Mothma as it was about the book’s main bad guy, even though her name isn’t in the title. From a respected senator who helps the Rebels get money without being caught to the boss we see making essential decisions on Yavin IV in Rogue One, the character has to change in season 2.

To talk about Yavin IV, Gilroy told Collider that season 2 would go to the center of the Rebel base. Also, if we want to beat the Empire, Mothma will have to ignore the work of agents like Rael, who are fearless in getting their hands dirty.

“If your business is based on paranoia, secrecy, and death, how do you expand your business?” Gilroy wrote in EW. “How do you get famous?” How do you get wide? What happens to all the hard-core criminals and people who built that road? Where do they go from here, and how do they join a real Rebel Alliance?”

As for Dedra Meero, she is an ambitious spy for the Imperial Security Bureau (ISB) who became obsessed with tracking down Cassian. Cassian will work hard to stay ahead of her. Syril Karn, the police officer shamed for saving her from rioters on Ferrix in the last episode of season 1, needs to be paid back. This may make things harder for her.

Karn is the most exciting and complicated character on the show. After their close encounter in a broom closet, he must play a big part in the search for Andor, who destroyed his career.

There is a clear link between the second season of Andor and Rogue One, leading to Star Wars Episode IV. The Rebel Alliance will finally find out about the Death Star and how the Empire plans to use it against anyone who fights back. Cassian, Kino, and other prisoners on Narkina 5 had been making parts for the Death Star’s laser array, which means they helped build it. We learned this in the scene that came after the credits of the last episode of season 1.

Dedra Meero is a driven spy for the Imperial Security Bureau (ISB) who became obsessed with finding Cassian. He will do everything he can to stay ahead of her. She owes money to Syril Karn, the police officer who saved her from rioters on Ferrix in the last episode of season 1. Some things might get worse for her.

A plot line has been lost in all the political and intergalactic fighting. Has Cassian given up on finding his sister, which is what started all of this in Andor in the first place?

Not yet, and we think it will be for a short time. The video for season 2 of Andor has yet to come out.

Still, people who went to Star Wars Celebration 2023 saw the new season video before it came out. Reports say there were Stormtroopers, chaos in the streets, Cassian Andor on a mission to save the day, Mon Mothma in charge of the Rebellion, and many Syril Karn.

Since there is still no date set for the second season of Andor, Star Wars fans may want to watch other TV shows set in Lucasfilm’s famous world far, far away and pass the time. If that sounds like you, put on one of these shows to pass the time. Two of them are considered some of the best Disney Plus shows ever. Hey, young Padawan! Have fun watching!

The Mandalorian – It’s called a “space Western,” and it takes place between Star Wars Episode VI and Episode VII. Pedro Pascal’s character, a lone gunslinger, becomes a father figure to “baby Yoda,” a young member of the legendary Jedi race who is essential to a plot the remnants of the Galactic Empire are working on. On Disney Plus, you can watch all three seasons in total.

Star Wars: Ahsoka –This live-action follow-up to Star Wars: Rebels picks up where The Mandalorian left off. The fan-favourite Togruta Force user meets up with her Rebels friends again to stop the return of a dangerous Empire general. Now you can watch all eight episodes of Star Wars: Ahsoka. Then, please read our article on how the show’s ending sets up future Star Wars stories.

The Book of Boba Fett – Boba Fett’s standalone series is the best of Lucasfilm’s live-action shows. It follows the famous bounty hunter through the criminal underworld of Lucasfilm’s galaxy as he tries to take over as Tattooine’s top crime boss from Jabba the Hutt. You can watch all seven shows right now on Disney Plus, known as one of the best streaming services in the world.
